Scott's November 1st show was a call out to all Broadway boys... this night was for them.  Susan joined the chummy chat fest and performed several songs, gossiped and had some laughs with the cast of Forbidden Broadway - Special Victims Unit, who poked fun at the Great White Way.

Without a doubt... a prescription for fun!

  POKER FACE!

Susan played in the Budd Friedman Celebrity Invitational Poker Tournament at Harrah's in Las Vegas July 30-August 2nd!! We were anxious to see if her television poker obsession had taught her anything at all!  Did her ingénue expressions confuse the professionals?  Actually, she did really well.  She may have lost, but it was with a full house of Ace's and Queens -- would you believe that her opponent ended up with 4 Queens, to take the hand?  So, although Susan didn't win, she lasted an admirable amount of time and went out with a more than respectable hand. But, all was not lost, as Susan retreated to the Blackjack tables, from where she walked away with a hefty little profit!! Brava, Susan!!!

  COFFEE HOUSE RELEASE!

FINALLY!! Susan's THIRD solo CD is almost here -- July 15th online and September 7th in stores!!!  COFFEE HOUSE is a new musical blend that reflects how the worlds of Broadway, pop and classic rock have recently begun to merge.  It celebrates the kind of music once played in those local hangs 30-40 years ago – great story songs with an acoustic texture – fused with contemporary interpretations created by Egan and her long-time friend, producer, arranger and orchestrator, Christopher McGovern.  You’ll  hear Terrence Mann (Egan’s costar in Broadway’s Beauty and the Beast) singing a Janis Ian duet, an Alan Menken/David Zippel pop song cut from the animated film Hercules, and Jerry Herman’s latest jazz tune from his new musical Miss Spectacular set along side great new theatre/cabaret composers and classic artists such as Cat Stevens, Kate Bush and Joni Mitchell. The worlds of these writers are no longer far apart! Click here to view the Press Release!

  MILLIE CLOSING

June 21 marked the closing performance for Susan as Millie in Broadway's Thoroughly Modern Millie! For Susan, the closing was bittersweet – she says, "I’ll miss the truly marvelous group of people on and off stage at the Marquis Theatre – BUT the show had a great run and our closing was something special.  Our lovely producers sent us out with a riotous party – see pictures!!  And having only had one week off – I’ve already gained FOUR pounds!!  Needless to say I’ve stopped eating the Millie-high-caloric-diet now. =)  I think its under control at this point!  Oy.  Big thanks to the cast and crew and production team and most of all Mary Ann the master-Millie-dresser who made my stay so great!! And to Karen who flew out for the shin-dig!"

  IDOL AIKEN MEETS MODERN MILLIE

As America bites its nails over the American Idol final Season 3 face-off between Diana and Fantasia, one of last year's favorites is making the Broadway scene. Clay Aiken, the Idol runner-up who is now a multi-platinum recording artist, was spotted backstage at Thoroughly Modern Millie on May 22, gushing to its leading ladies about their
delightful Tony-winning tuner. It's too bad the show is winding down its two-year run next month. Clay could have made a thoroughly delightful Jimmy, no? Photos by Bruce Glikas for Broadway.com

  SUSAN RETURNS TO THE STUDIO

That's right!  Susan is thrilled to be back in the booth recording her third solo CD entitled Susan Egan, Something Else. The CD is produced and co-conceived by her longtime friend, the talented Christopher McGovern, who just  produced and released Rebecca Luker's new CD Leaving Home just released on PS Classics, and is the author/composer of the musical Lizzie Borden. Christpher and Susan have known each other since (gasp!) 1993, when they worked together on the workshop of a new musical The Little Prince,  right before she starred in Beauty and the Beast.  This CD has an intimate acoustic feel and a song list to die for.  Look for it later this year!!
