 DISNEY'S SPIRITED AWAY

Susan supplies the voice of the character Lin, a no-nonsense bathhouse girl who dreams of the outside world, for the English version of Japan's all-time top-grossing film, Spirited Away.  The movie premiered in September 2002.  By Hayao Miyazaki, the latest masterpiece from the creator of My Neighbor Totoro, Nausicaa, and Princess Mononoke! Spirited Away tells the story of Chihiro, a 10-year-old girl who moves to the suburbs with her parents. Once there, she begins to explore her new surrounding, wandering into a mysterious town that turns out to be an "other world" of gods and monsters, ruled over by the witch Yu-Baaba!

 GRANT PARK MUSIC FESTIVAL

Susan sang with the Grant Park Orchestra and Chorus; Christopher Bell, Conductor; Susan Egan, Soprano; Debbie Gravitte, Mezzo Soprano; Rob Evan, Tenor; William Michals, Bass

Witty, sophisticated, even naughty - the music of Cole Porter never fails to delight. Direct from New York, four Broadway greats join the Grant Park Orchestra and Chorus to present Cole Porter's most beloved melodies.

GOTTA KICK IT UP
Susan stars in the popular Disney Channel's original Movie, Gotta Kick It Up as an ex-"dot.com" executive turned schoolteacher who takes a handful of Latina schoolgirls and motivates them to become a championship dance team.  There's five girls, five different personalities and one major dance competition.  Susan's character, Heather Burke helps this mismatched group of Latina girls to put aside their differences and come together as a team.

Susan is pictured in the hair/makeup trailer on location of the filming of Gotta Kick It Up, having just been introduced to her blonde wig.

 BALTIMORE CENTERSTAGE CONCERT

April 20, 2002 (solo act)

Susan was the evening's entertainment for Baltimore CenterStage's annual black tie gala.  She presented an hour concert before joining the sold out crowd for dinner and gala festivities.  She spent quite a long time signing her new cd, So Far..., for many of the guests.  She enjoyed returning to one of the first homes for Triumph of Love prior to it's Broadway run.

 HANNAH FREE

Susan directed a staged reading of the Claudia Allen play Hannah Free for the Blank Theatre Company.

Hannah Free is the story of Hannah, an independent spirit, and Rachel, the homebody she loves all her life. The play opens in a nursing home where an elderly Hannah is not allowed to see a comatose Rachel who is just down the hall.  Denied Rachel, Hannah visits with Rachel's spirit.  It's a story about living and loving and letting go... a fiction about all the real women who've loved each other for decades and decades.

 FALLING IN LOVE

Mid-March, Susan shot a short film, Falling In Love, about a flight attendant killed on the job.  Shot in flashback sequences, the entire movie is what Susan's character thinks about just before dying -- the most important moments in life ... falling in love.  It's based on a true story.

Susan is pictured at right with Falling In Love "husband" and co-star, Robert Casey.

  ARLI$$

Susan plays the choreographer for the Clipper girls.  Arliss is falling for her even though she is in love with the team owner, played by Keith Carradine.

A fun twist in the plot leads to a Fred and Ginger-type dance with Susan's character and Arliss.

This episode airs on HBO in June of 2002!

  NYPD BLUE EPISODE

Susan was thrilled to shoot an episode of NYPD Blue.  She got to play opposite the Emmy Award winning true-talent (and super nice guy, in Susan's words), Dennis Franz.

This episode airs on ABC on March 12, 2002.

OLYMPIC TORCH RELAY - UNIVERSAL CITY WALK

Susan was the featured soloist and sang the official 2002 Olympic Torch Relay song, Carry The Flame, as the torch came through Los Angeles on the way to it's final destination in Salt Lake City, Utah.  Susan was backed by America's Kids for the Ceremony held at Universal City Walk on Tuesday, January 15th.  Susan and America's Kids provided the entertainment for the evening as the crowd awaited the torch's arrival.  It was an historical and incredibly moving evening.
