Only THREE months since my last update -- that's not bad ... for me. =)

Hello ALL! Happy New Year.  So much has changed: the calendar, the government, the economy, the filter in my water purifier .... where to start?

The Inauguration!!!

I took this picture myself!!! Okay, I wasn't exactly THERE ... in Washington DC ...

but I WAS at the LegoLand recreation of the event in San Diego!!!!

And I think that's a close 2nd!

Yes, these are Legos, folks!

I hope you all had wonderful holidays!  Things here were busy, and now we're planning a move (I'll be a real Orange County house wife soon!), and gearing up for Nina's 2nd birthday and a bunch of concerts and projects. Read on!

Oh! And check out some new goodies on FAN FUN, and program your DVRs to record HOUSE on March 9th -- I'll be on it!

VOX FEMINA !!!!

In November I had to bow out of a concert I was doing with the acclaimed women's choral group, VOX Femna, here in Los Angeles. I was so heartbroken to cancel last-minute that I'm thrilled to announce they are letting me do a very different sort of event for them in February!

Here's their write-up of the evening:

Treat yourself to a dazzling evening and support Vox at this fundraising extraordinaire!

For a $75 donation, you will join a select few at a lovely estate in Beverly Hills for a private performance by the Tony Award® nominated Belle of Broadway and acclaimed star of theatre, film, television, and music, Susan Egan.

Start your evening with drinks and hors d' oeuvres and then sit back as Susan's singing transports you to other worlds. Be among the first to experience the thrill as she debuts new repertoire and travel down memory lane as she treats you to some of the classic Broadway hits that she made famous. After the show, enjoy the intimate setting and learn more about Susan as she engages in a lively conversation with Vox's Artistic Director, Dr. Iris Levine. It will be a night you'll never forget!

Please hurry – only 75 may join us for this private viewing, so reserve your spot today for this once-in-a-lifetime event.

CORPORATE GREED???

Corporate America isn't all bad -- one big corp is hiring a few pals and myself to give a private concert for their employees in February.  So, the second week of February finds me with Hugh Panaro, Laura Bell Bundy and Brian Stokes Mitchell, singing the tunes of Rodger's and Hammerstein.  Nice work!  I'll take some pix and post them next month.

CONCERTS PAST

   YOUNG MUSICIANS ASSOCIATION

In November, I was thrilled to have the opportunity to sing with the Young Musicians Association Orchestra in honor of Disney (iconic) composer, Richard Sherman. The evening was hosted by Dick Van Dyke (who also sang!) and Mr. Sherman's award was presented by John Williams!!  Wow.  Glad I had a camera!!

FOR GOOD ...

Getting to be a part of the ASCAP Evening honoring Stephen Schwartz was really exciting. Set up in the lobby of the Pantages Theatre in Hollywood, the setting was beautiful; and joining fellow performers like Eden Espinosa, Megan Hilty, Debbie Gravitte, Jason Graae, and more ... an honor.  Thank you Michael Kerker for bringing me in!  Here's a snap with Stephen and an old friend, Melissa Manchester, whose music I got to record for the Disney film Lady and the Tramp 2 many moons ago.

CATALINAS

Trying out all sorts of new material, including a song I co-wrote with pal and rock star, Brian Haner, the evening at Catalina's ended up being so much fun. Thank you to all who came out, including my neice, Jamie Hartmann, who sang beautifully that night!  Here's a snap with Karen -- 2009 marks 10 years of working together!!!

I've been asked and am planning to do a similar evening in Hermosa Beach at the famous Comedy and Magic Club (okay, I do neither!) this year -- I'll keep you posted.

RENO PHILHARMONIC

I had a blast doing the holiday spectacular with the Reno Philharmonic this year. I entered on a horse-drawn sleigh -- with an actual horse (who flipped out a bit at the matinee -- that was fun!).  Nina came along, met Santa backstage (a sudden and overwhelming experience), and particularly enjoyed the limo ride from the airport to the hotel (next door to the airport). It may have been a short journey, but she liked it!  (Don't get used to it, kid!) Here we are in the dressing room and the limo. =)

WHEN IN TEXAS ...

Working with Broadway pals Doug LaBrecque and Christiane Noll (8-months-pregnant and gorgeous!) was a great way to start off 2009.  The San Antonio Symphony is fantastic and the food in the city ... well, let's say the New Year's resolution didn't kick in until the 5th.  Rob and Nina came along for a family vacation and it was  great!  Especially fun .... letting the hairstylist (David!) give you Big-State Hair.  When in Texas ....

A MOTHER'S INDULGENCE

Getting a few weeks with Rob off work, we took advantage of play time, taking the Bean to Lego Land, the Aquarium and Knott's Berry Farm.  Here she is with a lion fish, and her dad ... both fascinating creatures!
